July 11, 2018 By fsspx.news
Election of the Superior General
On July 11, 2018, Father Davide Pagliarani was elected Superior General, for a mandate of 12 years, by the 4th General Chapter of the Society of Saint Pius X.
The new Superior General is 47 years old and is of Italian nationality. He received the sacrament of Holy Orders from the hands of Bishop Bernard Fellay in 1996. He exercised his apostolate in Rimini (Italy), then in Singapore, before being appointed Superior of the District of Italy. Since 2012, he was Rector of Our Lady Co-Redemptrix Seminary of La Reja (Argentina).
After accepting his office, the elected pronounced the Profession of Faith and took the Anti-Modernist Oath at the seminary church. Then, each of the members present came before him to promise their respect and obedience, before singing the Te Deum in thanksgiving.
The 41 capitulants will proceed tomorrow with the election of the two Assistants General, for the same mandate of 12 years. The Chapter will continue until July 21st at the Seminary of St. Pius X of Ecône (Switzerland)

Remember Fr. Pagliarani? ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ..... " This statement [Doctrinal Declaration] is profoundly ambiguous and sins by omission against the clear and distinct denunciation of the principal errors that are still rampant within the Church and destroy the faith of Catholics. This statement [Doctrinal Declaration], as it stands, suggests that we accept the premise of the "hermeneutic of continuity." Such a document[Doctrinal Declaration], if it were the principle of an agreement, would make such an agreement equivocal from the start and would favour any subsequent drifting away [from our original positions]." [here ends Fr de Jorna's text] After Fr de Jorna’s presentation, no one contradicted his statement. ************************* Then Father Pagliarani (Right -Rector of the Argentinian seminary) rose and broke the silence in favour of Bishop Fellay in these terms: "Dear colleagues! We are surely not going to give a slap in the face to our superior by demanding a retraction from him! This will be done implicitly in the final Declaration of the Chapter." Then they went on to another topic ... The case was closed. The “resistant” members were out-manoeuvred. They could not move on to the next phase which would have been the call for Bishop Fellay’s resignation. The Chapter participants were led to believe that the Declaration was “withdrawn” with an “implicit disapproval” of its author..... ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Source: thecatacombs.org/thread/685/sspxs-doctrinal-declaration-2012

This is what’s being said in the French newspaper, Le Figaro. (translated using DeepL.com) _____________________________________________________________________________________ Jean-Marie Guénois - Le Figaro] End of the reign among the Lefebvristes: Mgr Bernard Fellay is replaced by Abbé Davide Pagliarani
SOURCE - Jean-Marie Guénois - Le Figaro - July 11, 2018 After two mandates of twelve years, Bishop Bernard Fellay is not reappointed at the head of Fraternité Saint Pie X, founded by Bishop Lefebvre. Davide Pagliarani, who was elected by two thirds of the votes of the 41 capitulants, at the end of a voting day on July 11, 2017, in Ecône (Switzerland). His term will last twelve years. Davide Pagliarani has been in charge of the Seminary of Our Lady Co-Redemptrix in La Reja, Argentina, since 2012. Aged 47, of Italian nationality, he was ordained priest in 1996 by Mgr Fellay. He exercised his apostolate in Rimini, then in Singapore, before being appointed superior of the District of Italy. His election is a surprise. He is a close friend of Alfonso de Galarreta, a Spanish national - one of the four who was ordained bishop by Mgr Lefebvre - and who worked for a long time in Argentina. This choice suggests that great caution could now be exercised in the attempts at rapprochement between the Society of Saint Pius X and Rome. Jean-Marie Guénois - Le Figaro] Lefebvristes: Bishop Fellay is ousted, Father Davide Pagliarani becomes Superior General
SOURCE - Jean-Marie Guénois - Le Figaro - July 11, 2018 During a General Chapter held on Wednesday in Ecône, Switzerland, a new Superior General was elected at the head of the Fraternity of Saint Pius X, ousting the present Superior, Mgr Fellay, who was the favourite. With this new leader, Father Davide Pagliarani, it is the opposite line to a rapprochement with Rome that has taken over.
It's a surprise. After two mandates of twelve years at the head of the Society of Saint Pius X - founded by Mgr Marcel Lefebvre, leader of the opponents to the Second Vatican Council - Mgr Bernard Fellay, 60 years of Swiss nationality, was not renewed as Superior General. He was a favorite, though. Meeting Wednesday in Ecône, Switzerland - its historic headquarters - the 4th General Chapter of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X elected Father Davide Pagliarani as Superior General for a 12-year term. An Italian national, he is 47 years old and was ordained priest by Mgr Fellay. He exercised his apostolate in Rimini (Italy), then in Singapore, before being appointed superior of the District of Italy. Since 2012 he has been director of the seminary of Our Lady Co-Redemptrix of La Reja (Argentina). Alfonso de Galarreta, auxiliary bishop of the Society of Saint Pius X, whose new superior is close by. This Spanish bishop was one of four bishops ordained, against the advice of Rome, by Mgr Lefebvre in 1988. He is renowned for his uncompromising doctrinal requirement. The rapprochement with Rome could still slow down
It was also learned in the evening that Bishop de Galarreta and Father Christian Bouchacourt - a French national and superior of the French district - had been elected "assistants" to the new superior. The orientation of this new team suggests that the dossier of the rapprochement with Rome could still slow down, even stagnate, so much the doctrinal divergences are important between the Vatican and Ecône. In particular on interreligious dialogue and ecumenical relations with other Christian confessions, but also on ecclesiology and the vision of the Catholic Church.
Within the Society of Saint Pius X - 650 priests in 70 countries and about 150,000 faithful - there is strong opposition to rapprochement with Rome. Very present in France, the supporters of this position call themselves the "resistance fighters". They probably played a role in the eviction of Bishop Fellay who had been working since Benedict XVI's pontificate, then with Pope Francis, on an agreement with Rome. Similarly, one of the potential candidates for this election - even if no one can stand for election - the French priest, Patrick Duverger, who was more in favour of a rapprochement with the Holy See, was also rejected. The break of the Lefebvrists with Rome was consummated when the founder, Mgr Marcel Lefebvre, ordered in 1988, four bishops against the advice of Rome, provoking a form of schism. Benedict XVI attempted reconciliation by lifting the excommunications of these four bishops, just as Bishop Fellay was. He also authorized, on an extraordinary basis, the return of the Mass according to the ancient Latin rite. But discussions failed over the refusal of the Society of Saint Pius X to recognize the entire Second Vatican Council. Following him, Pope Francis - who has a positive image of the pastoral work of Lefebvrists in Argentina - granted their priests the canonical capacity to confess and marry. This was another step towards normalizing relations. Finally, Rome had prepared a tailor-made statute of "Personal Prelature", on the model of Opus Dei, to welcome this priestly Fraternity. It confers a certain autonomy of action, the superior answering only to the pope and not to the local bishops. But the superior is then appointed for life. A perspective that may have played against Bishop Fellay, who had already served two 12-year terms. Even if, in the present case, it was the doctrinal considerations relating to the evolution of the Catholic Church under the pontificate of Francis in a direction which had a great influence on the Lefebvrists, which were decisive. A few observations and a few hopes:Observation #1: Fr. Pagliarani was promoted to Rector of the La Reja seminary in 2012, in the milieu of the advancement of the Doctrinal Declaration by the upper echelons within the SSPX. He then a few months later, as noted above, defended Bishop Fellay at the 2012 General Chapter and nearly single-handledly maneuvered to block a retraction of that same Doctrinal Declaration. This is of great importance in looking at the future of the SSPX under such a Superior General. Observation #2: Fr. Pagliarani, in that same role of Rector of La Reja Seminary - located in Argentina, has been a part of the SSPX apparatus that was placed under diocesan control since 2015. So we can see that Fr. Pagliarani is experienced in functioning under the local conciliar diocese for the better part of the last three years. Also an interesting perspective in looking to the future of the SSPX. +++ We sincerely hope and pray that the new SSPX SG will denounce and retract the 2012 Doctrinal Declaration that still stands as the SSPX's formal overture and formal concession to the Conciliar Church. We beg Our Lord Jesus Christ to give him the intention and the courage to stop this ever-accelerating slide into the modernism and false religion of the Conciliar Church.
We hope for this in the same spirit that we hope and pray for the next good pope, who will denounce the documents and fruits of the Second Vatican Council, who will condemn the Novus Ordo Missae, who will Consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart, and who will, as a true good shepard, use the full force of his office to turn the tide of modernism which has overwhelmed the Bride of Christ these last several decades.

DECEPTIONING FIRST INTERVIEW OF THE NEW SUPERIOR GENERAL OF THE FSSPX
(Google Translate)
Thursday, July 12, 2018
The FSSPX has published an interview of just over 6 minutes of Father Pagliarani, the first he gives as Superior General. Well, it is sad to note that, in it, the Father speaks as any conservative cleric or as a superior of the Ecclesia Dei congregation, that is, emphasizing certain truths as always, BUT WITHOUT TOUCHING CERTAIN POINTS THAT CAN DISTURB ROME: WITHOUT DOING NO MENTION TO THE CRISIS OF THE CHURCH, TO THE COMBAT IN DEFENSE OF FAITH, TO VATICAN II OR MONS. LEFEBRVE . Zero. Nothing. Absolute silence. The accordist adversaries will say that we hasten to criticize Fr. Pagliarani from the first moment, but please, how can we explain that the new superior of the most important congregation that still opposes (at least officially) liberalism and modernism in the Catholic hierarchy for 50 years, omit to refer, AT THE TIME WHEN THE EYES OF THE CATHOLICS OF THE WHOLE WORLD ARE DIRECTED TOWARDS HIM, to what is absolutely a priority for the Church of Christ at the present time, focusing, instead, his discourse on certain ideas about priestly holiness? Amazing, just amazing.
Fr. Pagliarani surely understands the importance of his election as SG of one of the largest traditional Catholic groups in the world, doesn't he? The words he chose to use to answer these questions would be expected of one who was just made a rector of a seminary, and an Ecclesia Dei seminary at that, and not the titular head of one of the largest traditional Catholic group, a group founded by Archbishop Lefebvre no less, with all the history that goes along with his work.
These aren't even the words of a true SSPX rector. Even a true SSPX rector would talk about training priests in defense of the Faith, training priests in the school of Tradition so that the wiles and errors of our day could be pointed out to the faithful. Fr. Pagliarani speaks to none of that. He talks a lot of fluff: the sanctification of the priests "inevitably affects the faithful". What is that?! These are the opening words of the new Superior General of the SSPX? That is not the battle cry of a leader. It is a whimper from one who does not lead but follows.
This is such a weak and cowardly response to the crisis in the Church as a whole and the SSPX in particular. Where are the true sons of Archbishop Lefebvre? Where are the true sons of the Mattathias? This is the time for Declarations, good Declarations. A clear map of the future. There is no distinction between these words of the new SG and any Ecclesia Dei member, not even necessarily a leader.
But the good thing is that this incredibly soft and mushy response of the new SG makes those priests who do stand and fight for the Faith stand out in stark relief against such passivity. It is easier to see the standards they carry of the Cross and Our Lady in this fight for God and for the Faith - God bless the priests of the SSPX- MC!

Here are some observations from a post on the resistance-catholique website about the new Superior General, Fr. Pagliarani. Source: resistance.vraiforum.com/t652-Qui-est-l-abb-Pagliarani.htm ___________________________________________________________________________________ July 2011: in an interview in Italy, he defends the possibility of a practical agreement without the Pope's conversion.* [see below] - At the mini-Chapter in Albano, he makes fun of those who still hold the theory of the conversion of the Pope in order to initiate rapprochements. - He seems to have contributed in a significant way to the famous DOCTRINAL DECLARATION of April 2012 - At the Chapter, he "saved" Bishop Fellay following attacks by confreres denouncing the scandalous Doctrinal Declaration. - He expressed some reservations on the issue of marriages. Not on the substance (the conciliar jurisdiction) but on the way in which it was ratified and imposed. - His first words as superior are revealing: he insists on the priesthood, on the formation and holiness of priests, but not a word on the combat of the Faith and the reign of Christ the King. * July 2011 interview : Assuming that [if] the Vatican offered to the Society the opportunity to be structured as an Ordinariate directly subject to the Holy See, how might that proposal be received?
Fr. Pagliarani: It would be taken calmly into consideration on the basis of the principles and priorities and above all the supernatural prudence from which the superiors of the Society have always drawn their inspiration. Couldn’t you tell us something more?
Fr. Pagliarani: I can only repeat what was explained clearly by my superiors from the start: the canonical situation in which the Society presently finds itself is the result of its resistance to the errors that infest the Church; consequently the possibility of the Society arriving at a regular canonical situation does not depend on us but on the hierarchy’s acceptance of the contribution that Tradition can make to the restoration of the Church.
If we do not arrive at some canonical regularization, that simply means that the hierarchy is not yet sufficiently convinced of the urgent need for that contribution. In that case we will have to wait a few more years, hoping for an increase in that awareness, which could occur along with and parallel to the acceleration in the process of the Church’s self-destruction.

Interesting commentary on the new leadership of the SSPX by ('conservative' Novus Ordo) LifeSiteNews: New SSPX leadership has surprising similarities to Pope Francis but won’t compromise on faith ECÔNE, Switzerland, July 12, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) - The Society of Saint Pius X has elected their new superior and--surprise!--he’s Italian, fluent in Spanish, and has strong ties to Argentina. What’s more, his two assistants are also very familiar with Pope Francis’ home nation. The new SSPX superior, Don Davide Pagliarani, 47, was first ordained by the irregular order of traditionalist Catholic priests in 1996. A former District Superior for the SSPX in Italy, he has served as the superior of the SSPX seminary in La Reja, Argentina since 2012. Long considered the most likely candidate to succeed Bishop Fellay, Pagliarani was elected yesterday during the SSPX’s general chapter in in Ecône, Switzerland by the 41 members present with voting rights. He will be General Superior for 12 years. According to the SSPX, after accepting his election, Pagliarani made a profession of faith and took the “Oath against Modernism”. Those present sang a “Te Deum” after pledging respect for, and obedience to, their new superior. Today the assistants of the new superior were elected. They are Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta Genua, who supported Pagliarani’s candidacy, and Don Christian Bouchacourt, who is currently the District Superior of the SSPX in France. Like their new General Superior, both men are fluent in Spanish. Bishop De Galarreta, who was born in Spain, was raised in Argentina and attended the La Plata seminary in Buenos Aires before moving to the SSPX seminary in Ecône in 1978. De Galarreta was one of the bishops ordained by Archbishop Lefebvre, the founder of the Society, in 1988 against the will of Pope John Paul II. In response, John Paul II excommunicated De Galarreta, Lefebvre and the other ordinands. (These excommunications were lifted by Benedict XVI in 2009.) After his consecration, De Galarreta was appointed rector of the SSPX seminary in La Reja, Argentina. From 2003 until 2014, Don Christian Bouchacourt served as the superior of the Society’s Latin American chapter of the SSPX. Its headquarters are in Argentina, and there Bouchacourt struck up a friendly relationship with Cardinal Bergoglio, then the archbishop of Buenos Aires.Bouchacourt’s relationship with Pope Francis has continued to be positive. On May 12, 2017, he cracked down on French SSPX priests hostile to Francis’ recognition that Catholic marriages witnessed by SSPX priests are valid. Francis had previously permitted Catholics to “validly and licitly receive sacramental absolution of their sins” from their SSPX priests, first during the Jubilee Year of Mercy, and then afterwards. Pope Benedict XVI hoped that the Society may be fully reconciled to the Vatican during his pontificate. The Society of Saint Pius X was founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre with a small group of seminarians in 1970 in response to the doctrinal confusion assailing Roman Catholic seminaries in the wake of the Second Vatican Council. The SSPX is opposed to all modernist trends of thought in the Catholic Church, including the Second Vatican Council’s understanding of freedom of religion. Pagliarani is considered a conservative in the Society. In a 2011 interview, he made it clear that the SSPX was not prepared to compromise on what it sees as its mission in order to achieve regularization by Rome. “The canonical situation in which the Society presently finds itself is the result of its resistance to the errors that infest the Church,” he said, “consequently the possibility of the Society arriving at a regular canonical situation does not depend on us but on the hierarchy’s acceptance of the contribution that Tradition can make to the restoration of the Church.” “If we do not arrive at some canonical regularization,” Pagliarani continued, “that simply means that the hierarchy is not yet sufficiently convinced of the urgent need for that contribution. In that case we will have to wait a few more years, hoping for an increase in that awareness, which could occur along with and parallel to the acceleration in the process of the Church’s self-destruction.” SSPX-watchers caution against seeing the election as a rejection of the conciliatory attitude of Bishop Fellay towards Rome. Fellay made it known that he did not seek reelection. The Society of Saint Pius X maintains a presence in 62 countries, with seminaries in the USA, Germany, France, Australia as well as in Switzerland and Argentina. The SSPX has three bishops, 590 priests, 187 seminarians, 103 brothers, 170 sisters, and 78 oblate sisters. Approximately 600,000 Catholic lay people around the world support the SSPX.

Sorry, but when I just read the following, I was thinking, "OH BOY, this new SG sounds like he might be worth his salt!" ........... .......... ..... "This statement [Doctrinal Declaration] is profoundly ambiguous and sins by omission against the clear and distinct denunciation of the principal errors that are still rampant within the Church and destroy the faith of Catholics. This statement [Doctrinal Declaration], as it stands, suggests that we accept the premise of the "hermeneutic of continuity." Such a document [Doctrinal Declaration], if it were the principle of an agreement, would make such an agreement equivocal from the start and would favour any subsequent drifting away [from our original positions]." [here ends Fr de Jorna's text]
After Fr de Jorna’s presentation, no one contradicted his statement. ........ Then I realized it was Fr. Pagliarani who stood up to interrupt the speaker (and to forestall the next step which would seek to remove +Fellay as SG) Perhaps this is a pinch off-topic but I wanted to insert it here before the discussion runs away from that choice moment, whenever-it-was.

I have been very busy this week. There is so much here in this new appointment of the Superior General to unpack it will take some time. I have read many commentaries throughout many neo-camps. To suffice, I notice what is missing in each and every one is the rights of God in their commentary. It is many times A-political or practical in nature, though I understand, what is pushed on us in every quarter in our century is -- the rights of man.
The turn of these new players are only a brand; not a de fide act of Faith. What will be the act of faith is what is in their new declaration published after their General Chapter meetings ending on July 21, 2018. It is that what defines the Superior General.
Mind you, the General Counsel of the SSPX is the Supreme authority of the SSPX and the Superior General is elected to follow and fulfill the will of that General Counsel during his elected term. Thus, since 2006 the General Counsel mandated Doctrine as the primacy of dialogue; not a practical accord in which it explicitly condemned. Bishop Fellay was re-elected a second term in 2006 to fulfill that mandate and he not only squandered that mandate, he betrayed it. He manifested secret accords throughout and set an end of term secret April 2012 official doctrinal declaration for a deal with modernist rome to sign in the name of all the sspx members...until it was leaked and became an obstacle than a gift to the modernists.
His object was clear he was setting at the end of his first term the precedent and new accord in preparation for three months later to inject into the July 2012 General Chapter meetings. Do you remember the Rhine of Vatican II and their progressive hijacking of the Counsel? Much of the same. Recall too this time around Bishop Fellay stated on their media he had a "surprise" meeting in rome with the pope calling to him in June 2018 just weeks before the July 2018 General Chapter. Coincidence?
Suffice again up to the year 2006 when doctrine was held as the premise of evangelizing, then betrayed throughout (mentioned above) beginning one year later with the 2007 betrayal of lifting the mass when in fact politically surrendered Christ's sacrifice to a prison cell giving Baal's idolatry of the "ordinary mass" to be the primary worship to God (sic), followed by the act of 2009 false lifting of the excommunications when it didn't exists only to be a political tool to place a premise to submit to the conciliarists, then again officially substituted in 2012 by practical politics to be the new evangelization, not a surprise, so that all of these motions towards rome and poffered on their pulpits thereafter were and are intended, and can only be intended, to persuaded and entice us in a practical and political view to join them. So now one can understand all of these double standards and double speaks; it is man's effort as it is void of our Lord's voice. The Doctrinal primacy was voided and is openly omitted by their will and office as stewards and shepherds. They are wolves...eating the sheep.
We can go back further to 1994 when Bishop Fellay was first elected as the Superior General to fulfill its doctrinal mandate. Instead, in 1994 he erected an secret ecumenical entity called G.R.E.C to supplanted Catholic Tradition and the SSPX as founded by Archbishop Lefebvre. Bishop Fellay's 24 years as Superior General has been aimed and documented in this ecumenical direction. The SSPX year 2000 pilgrimage to rome was the first public show that started the branding for the goals of G.R.E.C -- conciliar reconciliation void of Doctrine.
This is not new. The other 9- traditional communities went into the dungeon of rome in the same trap.
So lets return to the real crisis instead of them narrating the story. The story is 6,000 years old with human drama. This is a question about the rights of God that falls into either one of two words that can sum up every crisis since Genesis: Fidelity or Infidelity.
Re-read Holy Scripture and Church history. One will see these two words as the central event in every crisis. Ours is no different.
This is why every temptation whether individual or public, or whether small or big, comes down to one of either of those two words. Will one be Faithful or Unfaithful to God? What will we do?
We know what the saints and the Fathers of the Church had done. We know too what the great Archbishop Lefebvre instructed us to do.
Deus Vult! "Instaurare omnia in Christo" To restore all things in Christ!

I'll will add another two cents regarding this political sspx. Many were surprised Bishop Fellay was not re-elected to effect the progressed and ultimate public change - union with modernist rome.
However, one can recall there are many parts to the puzzle they present as tidbits for consumption, rather table scraps. The SSPX General Counsel, through Bishop Fellay, accepted and said: "The Personal Prelature was ALREADY set up and only waiting for the "seal" from the pope. That structure provides for a bishop to be at its head; chosen from a list of three SSPX members; to be like a super Dioceses and govern all of the members and faithful..." (See here Quotes of Bishop Fellay towards "Reconciliation")
There is more to the distraction of this temporary new appointment Fr. Pagliarani was assigned.
The new-sspx and modern rome already agreed the present SSPX will no longer exist in a matter of time.
Just saying.

To our sedevacantist friends who wish to put centuries of Catholic invincibility into the waste bin to parade a self-judgment of the Petrine Chair, the visible head of Christ, questioning the providence of the only prelate, Archbishop Lefebvre, as wrong (R&R) proved by the present sspx doing what it is doing, one needs to be honest and see Bishop Fellay's actions, as with the other 9-traditional communities succumbing to modernism as they did, is NOT in accord with the perennial teachings of the Church expressed through the saintly Archbishop Lefebvre. The only defender of the Church in our time.
What needs for our sedevacantist friends is attention of His works and guidance being a solid defender of the Church and the rights of God the Holy spirit provided in these 60 years purifying his church. Which sedevacantism is NOT, and can never be, an expression of Christ separating His visible Head from his visible body the Church.
What the new-sspx is doing is a doctrinal betrayal of Christ. Like sedevacantism is doing; just on the other extreme. Plain and simple.

Many have said over the years that the election of the Superior General of the SSPX in this crisis is second in significance to the election to a pope in today's time. Why? For the same reason every left and right front group secular and religious, political and heathens are glued to the news of both persona, it is where their life and consciences lie. It is where the truth is. It is with the Catholic Church the voice of God speaks and creation listens. But is God stuck prevailing His will providing for his creation only in an address in rome or he can raise a saint in the cave of Egypt (St. Anthony) or on a pole (St. Simeon Stylites) to get His people's attention to whom they should seek and not to fall in complacency with inordinate attention on the means (pope) but on the end (God).
Whether one stops up their ears or sails to a remote island, the voice of the Catholic Church is sweet as a mother to their young; even though some of them choose to be wayward and undisciplined; even who refuse the rights of God as their creator in their presence and life. There is an end to all things. We choose processes and means everyday to find a satisfactory end we think is for a measure of life, right or wrong, but that is what we do.
So regardless of the election of a good pope or a bad pope, everyone is glued to know what the expression will be forward to know if they can still live in open idolatry or a hidden idolatry, convert in truth or hide in darkness. Human investment is looked at how others perceive its value. When the pope speaks, souls respond in virtue or markets of sin.
One only needs to look at the archives of history and see when a good pope is on the Chair of Peter, people are attentive and nations grow in virtue and wealth while darkness prepares for another war. When a bad pope is on the Chair of Peter, there is a shift of attention by the people and world on who God provided in that epoch to purify His Church. Even Herod was curious to follow the Church's prophesy to keep his secular reign. Christ was born and Herod tried to kill him through the details given where he is. So too the heathens know where the truth is; whether to kill the truth or to hide from it. We humans are created innately to listen to our consciousness as much as one wants to deny what they hear or are provided through events. These example are regarding the bad in the world but there is always a greater good in the world as light controls darkness. There are always souls who adore in truth as God promised He would raise stones if there was bad will wanting an eclipse. God will even use the stones thrown at his saints as vessels of praise (Canticles).
So with rome seeking inordinate attachments as Solomon did and riches St. Francis rebuked, material ends always end in dust they were created. Truth is God and is eternal. His Church is Eternal. The Triumphant Church continues as it does presently and still growing in Heaven with good willed souls until the end of time.
The pope today may fornicate and squander God's treasures all he wants, as other bad popes have done in time. Being a pope or a cleric, or a baptized Catholics is not a guarantee of salvation. It is what one does in stewardship with God's graces. Free will is free will as Peter had when he denied our Lord three times...the Church continues in Her four Marks of the Church.
Which is the direction and point of this crisis, as in any crisis, it is an event of purification. If one is honest, one can hear where the Good Shepherd is. He said so: "My sheep hear my voice: and I know them, and they follow me." (John 10)
So whether in time God chooses to guide souls through the desert or on the hills of Beatification, going across in tribulation the sea of Galilee, flogged in Jerusalem, in the Garden of sorrows to receive wisdom and comfort, in one place here or there, in time of old or in time of the new testament, God's voice is like the sun where good will follows like flowers fixed on the sun faithfully to exist in peace.
The old-sspx of Archbishop Lefebvre whether from his own words or from his faithful sons of the time, the world watched...steadily. Not anymore and not for the past six years. Today's new-sspx has lost its mission selling its birth-right seeking life with idolators and adulterers to truth. The world is not so attentive with them anymore as they are with modern rome; not distinct from darkness.
But where today are the Four Marks of the Church? Where is the light on the lamp stand? Where is the lamp stand? Is God raising up another saint with 27 years past the death of the saintly Archbishop Lefebvre? Are we orphans? Did God abandon us? Or did we abandon Him?
Have peace he offers us. He said he is closer to us as we are to ourselves.
If the father is gone on travel, his spirit lives in the family, order prevails and God is honored. Catholic culture grows because the cause is in God; not in ourselves.
Whether today is filled with markets of sin by both the effigy of a conciliar new religion and a conciliar sspx spreading their vile throughout the world, our Lord gave us direction within his parable between the poor man Lazarus and the rich man who both died and the rich man suffering in hell wanting to quench his thirst and for his brethren to hear God's message from another path through an apparition (Luke 16), the answer was no: "And Abraham said to him: They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them."
So there is no other path but the narrow path our Lord traversed. We need not make up anything else than what providence led us into the desert of this crisis to be patience without murmuring against Him. Keep the faith and the structure and order He gave. Trust, He is present as he was on the boat among the fear of the apostles in the tempest sea.
Will we be faithful to His calling or follow the calling of ourselves?

Often I read in commentary about Fr. Pagliarani interview of Aug. 2011 as if he is still stout today, or conservative, or being a brake to Bishop Fellay's progressiveness. Yet seven years later the SSPX has new wine skins and Fr. Pagliarani is not shouting on the roof tops like his founder did. Is he a Nicodemus? No, Nicodemus may have been quiet, but he never betrayed. Old literature allowed to flux means nothing says our Lord. What was good for the time must be held the same for eternity. Good wine cannot be fit with new skins.
This thread already drew those distinctions Fr. Pagliarani was the only person in the 2012 SSPX General Chapter to stop the rest of the General Counsel from holding a vote to discipline and/or remove Bishop Fellay for his betrayal secretly making a deal with the modernist under a Hermeneutics of Continuity. Let that sink in. Fr. Pagliarani also when Rector of the SSPX seminary in Argentina prohibited any dissent to be upon Bishop Fellay and his progressive new marriage concession with modernist rome, there was no stand for anything of Catholic Tradition but a tradition of man and a rule of authority prevalent in the new-sspx.
Age of articles mean nothing if it is not lived in truth as Bishop Fellay's famous 2003 Superior General article going against the Campos accord was stout, but today Bishop Fellay follows the same accord into modernist rome. People are fickle; so are memories.
