The New Heroes of the Conciliar SSPX
It has been commented on recently (here and here, for example) how the conciliar-SSPX has been strangely quiet (here is their English website) about the revelations of Archbishop Vignano regarding the nearly systematic cover-up of predatory and homosexual behavior present in nearly every rank of the Conciliar Church.
All this should come as no surprise really. We know that when the doctrine goes, so do the morals. We are just witnessing one of the more extreme versions of the lack of morals in the new, schismatic Conciliar Church.
“The more one analyzes the documents of Vatican II, and the more one analyzes their interpretation by the authorities of the Church, the more one realizes that what is at stake is not merely superficial errors, a few mistakes, ecumenism, religious liberty, collegiality, a certain Liberalism, but rather a wholesale perversion of the mind, a whole new philosophy based on modern philosophy, on subjectivism… A wholly different version of Revelation, of Faith, of philosophy! Very grave! A total perversion! (Two Years After the Consecrations, September 6, 1990)
“We believe we can affirm, purely by internal and external criticism of Vatican II, i.e. by analyzing the texts and studying the Council’s ins and outs, that by turning its back on Tradition and breaking with the Church of the past, it is a schismatic council.” (Archbishop Lefebvre, Le Figaro, August 4, 1976)
In their defense, the French SSPX site, La Porte Latine, did make a few posts about the issue but without really taking a stand. Rather, they really just reprinted articles with commentary from the new heroes of the conciliar-SSPX about the abuse cover-up, for example, citing Bishop Athanasius Schneider, who has been held up by the SSPX in the past as one such a hero:
What has become clear is that since the SSPX, as a whole, has abandoned the principles of their founder then they have no choice but to blaze a new path other than the one the Archbishop laid out for us if we are to keep our faith whole and unadulterated.
When you think about it, what the Archbishop told us over and over - no deal with Rome until it converts - is strikingly similar to what we read in the commands of God to the Jews of the Old Testament:
"You shall be holy unto me, because I the Lord am holy, and I have separated you from other people, that you should be mine" Leviticus 20:26
The Archbishop told us to keep ourselves separated from a modern and corrupted Conciliar Church until such time as it converts back to the true Faith. But we have all witnessed the clear divergence by the SSPX in turning away from the words of the Archbishop. How similar to the many times the Jews turned away from the faith in the true God and instead intermingled with their pagan neighbors in the Old Testament and how many times God had to punish them severely to bring them back to Himself and the true Faith.
Interesting to note as well, the SSPX finds itself in a position similar to that same Conciliar Church it is lusting after: It must create new saints, new heroes, new friends since turning its back on the Archbishop. True, the SSPX does continue to post the picture of the Archbishop in several places on its websites, chapels, etc. But actions speak louder than words. The actions of the SSPX show over and over how it has abandoned the guiding words of the Archbishop on how to maintain our faith without becoming contaminated by our pagan 'Conciliar Catholic' neighbors.
[Recall Gaudium et Spes of Vatican II: Fr. Hesse reminds us that Section 12 of this document utters blasphemy when it says: “According to the almost unanimous opinion of believers and unbelievers alike, all things on earth should be directed towards man as their centre and crown.”]
The SSPX has not preserved the Faith - they 'lust after' and seek the blessing of the Conciliar Church for their sacraments and their priests. They curry favor with the Conciliar Church in their attempt to intermarry the SSPX with that 'Church of the Council'.
Keep my laws and my judgments, and do them: lest the land into which you are to enter to dwell therein, vomit you also out. Walk not after the laws of the nations, which I will cast out before you. For they have done all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. But to you I say: Possess their land which I will give you for an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the Lord your God, who have separated you from other people. Leviticus, Chapter 20: 22-24
