Brown Scapular of St. Alphonsus Liguori (1696-1787) found miraculously incorrupt in his tomb.
Our Lady's Habit
The Scapular is essentially a religious habit - Our Lady's habit. When we are wearing the Scapular, we are wearing a garment which was woven on the looms of Heaven and brought to earth by Our Lady Herself, in Her own hands. When we wear the scapular we wear what Our Lady Herself was wearing when She made the promise. We tell Mary that we venerate Her, love Her and trust Her every moment of the day, by simply wearing the Scapular. St. Alphonsus says: "The Most Holy Mary is pleased when Her servants wear Her Scapular as mark that they have dedicated themselves to Her service, and are members of the family of the Mother of God."
"The inner life of another that is known to God alone becomes to a much less degree open to us through friendship. It partially fills the desire of our incomplete, lonely hearts for completeness in another. Friendship brings out the best in a person through forgetfulness of self." - St. Thomas Aquinas
