I love the Parce Domine, especially set in the Way of the Cross with the Stabat Mater during lent. It is one of my many favorites. Very deep in meaning...quenching one's whole being in the mercy and goodness of God.
To know God is to live in His Holy presence liken to the burning bush on Mount Sinai willing to be consumed for the love of him. Or burned in consummation as St. Lawrence on the grill; Or St. Sebastian tied to the tree of inordinate affection; Or to give one's complete self and all that is most dear like Abraham; Or...
Ultimately, like our Lord who burned in love for His Father on the Cross giving his all... "Consummatum est!" -It is consummated.
