The Pope's last trick
Married priests?
It's NO ... but YES!

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 19, 2020
The Synod on the Amazon has been over for three months, and Pope Francis has just published the Apostolic Exhortation Querida Amazonia. To everyone's surprise, this text does not take up the proposal of the synod fathers on the admission of married men to the priesthood. Stop ... or trap?
Correctio Marcelis explains to us what is hidden behind the process known as the “Synodal Path”.
What is the operating mode of an ecclesial revolution under the pontificate of Pope Francis?
[One could argue that it is the same ecclesiastical revolution that was forced upon us during Vatican II - the same 'tricks' that were used then are being recycled and reused now: ambiguities and 'time bombs'. Notice the patience (and cunning) that is employed both in the aftermath of Vatican II and as exemplified below. - The Catacombs]
- launch a new idea: in the case considered, it is necessary to deal with the Amazon (it would be, some say, a "theological place" calling for a special reflection of the whole Church!),
- then we react informally and informally to the novelty, leaving doubts about the outcome of the process (on several occasions, press conferences by plane have been used in this spirit),
- then, a “process” in the form of a “debate” is initiated, the themes of which are fixed in advance (“preparatory document” of June 8, 2018, and Instrumentum laboris of June 17, 2019); the speakers and experts are carefully selected; from start to finish, the process remains under control. It is a “synodal path” which opens!
- in this context, the floor is "free", which allows the assembly to formalize major "advances", which will be dressed under pretexts of necessity and pastoral emergency,
- then we authorize the publication of the text opening up revolutionary paths: this is the “Final Document of the Synod”, which in this case contains the explicit proposal of access to the priesthood of married men already invested with the diaconate (§ 111 ) and that of promoting women to certain ministries (§ 102 and § 103),
- at the same time, we turn a deaf ear to any criticism or warning (even from a pope "emeritus" joining his pen to that of a Cardinal of Curia),
- in conclusion (provisional!), we deliver to the world an Apostolic Exhortation supposed to express the thought of the Pope on the subjects treated by the Synod. And contrary to all expectations, the said document does not refer to a reform of ecclesiastical discipline aimed at the ordination of married men. It also circumvents the question of the female diaconate.
- Here, in broad outline, the description of the stages leading to Querida Amazonia (beloved Amazon), text dated February 2, 2020, and published on 12.
For the attention of those who desire documentary evidence, here are the most significant extracts from the two aforementioned Roman texts (NB: we have highlighted in bold the passages which seemed to us to carry the deep thought of the editors) and various details provided during the presentation press conference:
1 - Synod final document (October 26, 2019) - Excerpt
102. (…) We ask for the revision of the Motu Propio de Saint Paul VI, Ministeria quedam , so that women who are adequately trained and prepared for it can receive the ministries of Lectorate and Acolyte, among other ministries to be developed. In the new contexts of evangelization and pastoral care in the Amazon, where the majority of Catholic communities are led by women, we ask that the instituted ministry of "the woman community leader" be created and recognized in the service of the changing demands of the world. evangelization and service to communities.
103. In the numerous consultations held in the Amazon, the fundamental role of religious and secular women in the Church of the Amazon and its communities was recognized and emphasized, given the multiple services they offer. In many of these consultations, the permanent diaconate for women was requested. This is why the theme was also very present at the Synod. Already in 2016, Pope Francis had created a Study Commission on the diaconate of women which, as a Commission, had achieved a partial result on what was the reality of the diaconate of women in the first centuries of the Church and its implications today. We therefore wish to share our experiences and reflections with the Commission and await its results.
(...)
111. (…) Considering that legitimate diversity does not harm communion and the unity of the Church, but that it manifests and serves it (…), we propose to establish criteria and provisions for on the part of the competent authority, within the framework of Lumen Gentium 26, to ordain priests suitable men and recognized by the community, who have a fertile permanent diaconate and receive adequate training for the presbyterate, who can have a legally constituted and stable family, to support the life of the Christian community by preaching the Word and celebrating the sacraments in the most remote places of the Amazon region. In this regard, some have spoken in favor of a universal approach to the subject. (Emphasis kept as in the original article.)
2. I listened to the interventions during the Synod and I read with interest the contributions of the minor circles. In this Exhortation, I wish to express the resonances that this journey of dialogue and discernment has provoked in me. I will not elaborate on all the questions extensively set out in the Conclusion Document. I do not intend to replace or repeat it. I only wish to provide a brief framework of reflections which embodies, in the Amazonian reality, a synthesis of certain major concerns that I have expressed in my previous documents, and which helps and directs towards a harmonious, creative and fruitful reception all the synodal path.
4. God grant that the whole Church will allow herself to be enriched and challenged by this work; that the pastors, consecrated persons and lay faithful of the Amazon commit themselves to its application and that it may inspire, in one way or another, all people of good will.
3. At the same time, I want to officially present this Document which exposes to us the conclusions of the Synod in which many people have collaborated who know, better than I and the Roman Curia, the problem of the Amazon, because they live there , they suffer there and they love it with passion. I preferred not to cite this Document in this Exhortation because I invite you to read it in full.
3 - Presentation press conference (February 12, 2020)
During the press conference held on February 12 in Rome for the presentation of the Apostolic Exhortation, Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops, and Cardinal Michael Czerny, Special Secretary of the Synod on the Amazon, stressed the distinction to be made between:
- the final document of the Synod on the one hand, which is not vested with magisterial authority, having not received formal approval from the Pope for this purpose, but which nevertheless enjoys a "certain moral authority" (sic),
- the Apostolic Exhortation on the other hand, which must be considered as engaging the ordinary magisterium of the Sovereign Pontiff.
- the Apostolic Exhortation on the other hand, which must be considered as engaging the ordinary magisterium of the Sovereign Pontiff.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Vatican Press Room, Matteo Bruni, clarified that the Final Document was a “precious” document, of which Pope Francis had recognized “value” and “authority” (sic) , and that it was advisable to read the provisions of this text "in the light of the Apostolic Exhortation"!
Journalists' questions, visibly perplexed, focused in particular on the problem of the ordination of married men, as well as on the female deacon. Has the door been closed by the Pope to these developments?
Cardinal Czerny - good interpreter of the thoughts of Francis- recalled that these provisions of the Final Document had not been taken up, indeed, in the Papal Exhortation… but that it was necessary to understand that “all this was part of a journey, a process.”
"We have reached a very important point in this synodal process", he continued, and "for questions which relate to themes which have not been resolved by the Pope , they will continue to be the subject debates (and prayers ...) until reaching mature decisions (sic) . We are talking about closure, it is concluded, it is like that, ... but no, it is not!"
Funny detail, at the end of the exchanges with the journalists, the Director of the Press room ingeniously concluded: "I don't know if now it's clearer"!
° °
In summary, to correctly decipher this subversive maneuver , it must be understood that the approach of conciliar Rome, while giving the impression of an apparently improvised and confused approach, in fact this has all evolved according to a tactic perfectly studied:
- We present a document which includes major developments favoring the denaturing of ordained ministries,
- We declare this document “non-magisterial”, while recognizing it as “authority”,
- The Pope himself, in a reputed "magisterial" Exhortation, "officially presents" this "non-magisterial" document, without formally approving it, but inviting the whole Church, clergy and faithful, to "read it in full" with a view to its "reception" and to "commit to its application",
This is great art!
To these dialectical tricks, unworthy of a Vicar of Jesus Christ and Successor of Peter, one can only oppose the remark of common sense of a Spanish surfer, J. Alar, posted on February 13 on InfoCatόlica:
Efectivamente, no hay una aprobación expresa del documento final del sínodo y, por tanto, no es magisterio ordinario, pero la exhortación, que sí es magisterio, apoya y da el visto bueno al documento y no solo dice que hay que leerlo, Baldisseri, sino también aplicarlo, aplicarlo, Baldisseri. Dice that el documento tiene autoridad moral, pero no magisterial. Costumer como, juegos de palabras, retórica, más ambigüedad y confusión. No, pero sí.
Indeed, there is no express approval of the final document of the synod and, therefore, it is not from the ordinary magisterium, but the Exhortation - which it is indeed of the magisterium - supports and gives its visa to the document in question, and it does not only say that it must be read, Baldisseri, but that it must also be applied, it must be applied Baldisseri!
No, but yes!

St. Bridget of Sweden on a Pope who abolishes Priestly Celibacy
Our Lady explained to St. Bridget of Sweden, that a Pope that would allow priests to marry, would go to hell.
Know this too: that if some Pope concedes to priests a license to contract carnal marriage, God will condemn him to a sentence as great, in a spiritual way, as that which the law justly inflicts in a corporeal way on a man who has transgressed so gravely that he must have his eyes gouged out, his tongue and lips, nose and ears cut off, his hands and feet amputated, all his body’s blood spilled out to grow completely cold, and finally, his whole bloodless corpse cast out to be devoured by dogs and other wild beasts. Similar things would truly happen in a spiritual way to that Pope who were to go against the aforementioned preordinance and will of God and concede to priests such a license to contract marriage.
For that same Pope would be totally deprived by God of his spiritual sight and hearing, and of his spiritual words and deeds. All his spiritual wisdom would grow completely cold; and finally, after his death, his soul would be cast out to be tortured eternally in hell so that there it might become the food of demons everlastingly and without end.” The Prophecies and Revelations of Saint Bridget of Sweden, Book 7, Chapter 10

Notice three times Our Lady uses the word "Pope" in this prophecy. She does not call the wicked man an antipope, a usurper, an imposter, uncanonically elected, etc. She calls him what he is, the Pope.
If this prophecy does apply to Pope Francis, who certainly seems to have opened the door to lifting celibacy among the clergy, then it would be Our Lady Herself who acknowledges the legitimacy of his pontificate. - The Catacombs]
