'If I get the coronavirus, I'm going to every MAGA rally'

A Denver city councilwoman appeared to cheer on a message about spreading the coronavirus at one of President Trump's rallies.

Councilwoman Candi CdeBaca, a Democrat, enthusiastically responded last week to a tweet that featured a graphic that said, “For the record, if I do get the coronavirus I’m attending every MAGA rally I can."

Her quote tweet said, "#solidarity Yaaaas!!" along with five emojis, three of which were faces laughing so hard that they were crying.

The councilwoman later responded to a reporter's tweet, saying,
After publication, the councilwoman told the Washington Examiner she "made a sarcastic tweet on Twitter to call attention to the Trump administration's downplaying of the coronavirus outbreak as a 'hoax' no more dangerous than the common flu. Rather than conservative outlets making a four-days-old tweet their focus on Super Tuesday, they should focus their energy on demanding a competent federal response to this public health crisis instead."

The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Globally, more than 89,000 people have been infected with the virus, and more than 3,000 people have died. Six U.S. citizens have died from the virus.

CdeBaca made headlines last year with comments that had people labeling her a communist.
