I watched this conference the other day and I found it to be very helpful in understanding the Catholic aspect of the situation as well as how this came to be and what it means. With so many conspiracy theories, lies that the media feeds us, I find that it truly enables the devil to instil fear within us and feed off it, not to mention take away our focus from what it should be on, God. I was becoming one of them, focusing on all the negativity and fear that the world was projecting, until finally I stopped and realized what was happening. I was reminded of what Archbishop Lefevre had said about listening to too much news and how it could have a bad impact on us. It’s so easy to get caught up in it all. This is, after all, the first crisis we go through in the time of social media and modern internet, everything is easy for us to access and the devil uses it to his ultimate advantage to pull our attention away to the point where we get consumed with the current happenings which doesn’t save our souls.
I am not saying to be ignorant and unaware, I am merely saying that we do not need to know every detail, theory and report on the subject. But we are entitled to make our own decisions about how much we want to know and read about it, of course. Watching this conference helped me to calm down and focus back on what was really important, what truly mattered without my stomach being in a constant state of knots due to anxiety. I know anxiety is the devil and it’s a battle I fight with the help of heaven, it’s my cross to bear but this conference helped me tremendously. It’s funny because when someone mentioned it to me, I was going to avoid it because I was so tired of hearing about the virus at every turn as it is all everyone could talk about. But something told me to listen to it and I am glad that I did.
Listen to it or not, it is entirely up to you but if you would like to hear this situation from a point of view that is entirely Catholic and doesn’t focus solely on the virus, I highly recommend it. It gives a better understanding of the whole picture as well as the journey that brought us here.
At the end of the day God is in control and He ultimately decides what happens. We must simply surrender to His will and take it one day at a time while continuing thr fight for the one true Faith! God Bless!!
