Good news for young and old alike....! Greg Taylor has generously consented to video taping/Live-streaming History lessons.
These will soon be found on the YouTube channel connected to the SSPX-MC site, found here sspxmc.com/
God willing, it will all be up and running soon and I'll post any details (schedule, times, topics perhaps, etc...) that may be helpful.
Anyone interested in diving in a bit deeper or offering it as a History course to your home-schooled children, as I plan on doing, here are two books Mr. Taylor recommends as starters: (copied and pasted from Mr. Taylor)
H D F Kitto "The Greeks" - very readable for an adult, give a good overview of Ancient Greece, maybe not so easy for a child to read depending on their age? ...he was a professor at Bristol in the 1950s and writes in a fairly "old fashioned" English style (by today's standards ... but I think he should be fairly easy for you to read and pass on what you gather from it to your children. It's not a long book, and one can dip in and out, it doesn't get too bogged down in the details.
R J Cootes "The Ancient World" - this was a school textbook in about 1970! The stuff in the front few pages about evolution and monkey-men living in caves is hilarious, but everything after that, the overview it gives of Ancient Egypt, Persia, Greece, Rome, etc is good and very easy to read, it was designed for children. There's not a ton of detail in it but enough and it means it's quite good for being able to just fit the different bits together and see what happens in relation to what, if you see what I mean.

I cannot thank Greg enough for offering these online classes...and refusing payment for them, God bless him!
Our history is rich in more lessons than just what happened and when...when taught correctly, it teaches us our Faith, answers the not so heard of question of "WHY" did this happen, what led up to this "event" in time, what must we do to correct past mistakes and perhaps more importantly, figuring out how not to make the same mistakes again. It teaches even the basic subjects such as geography and gives us a mental time-line of the past.
It's a great treasure that was stolen from us...from me, at least, for sure....and it must be reclaimed as ours and loved... so we understand, from a different angle, where we came from, who exactly we are, and where we are meant to be going.
Many thanks, in advance, for Mr. Taylor's time and efforts in this.
God willing, more details soon...
God bless!
