P. GLEIZE FSSPX ABOUT ARZ. VIGANÒ:
INGENUOUS, THE YOUNGEST OF THE FAMILY, VERY [ZEALOUS] NEOPHYTE,
SOMEONE STERILE WHO ONLY HAS WORDS

Excerpt from Father Gleize's conference in Lausanne in 2020
Father Gleize is a professor of theology at Ecône. He saw well the liberal drift of the SSPX and the betrayal of the Chapter of 2012, but for reasons that escape us, and probably out of admiration for Father de Jorna, he preferred not to leave this new fraternity that resulted after the Chapter of 2012. Therefore , has chosen the "correct" path in the pluralism of this new SSPX. He maintains a speech that seems to be anti-chorus, but turns out to be chorus-minded.
He still believes in the "providential" mission of the Fraternity of Saint Pius X, although he clearly betrayed its founder in 2012. He firmly believes in it and therefore cannot imagine another practical solution to the crisis of the Church and especially drifting from Rome.
Now it happens that a bishop appears (Monsignor Viganò) who has the merit of fulfilling what is the main function of a bishop: TO TEACH THE TRUTH .
And there you have our Father Gleize, all baffled at the idea that his position might not be the correct one in practice. Then Archbishop Viganò becomes, in the eyes of this "great" theologian, someone INGENUOUS, THE YOUNGEST OF THE FAMILY, VERY [ZEALOUS] NEOPHITE, HARDER THAN US .... and finally STERILE .
In addition, Father Gleize believes that he remains in the truth even though he himself justified the excesses of Bishop Fellay in 2013 in an important article published in all the official sites of the Fraternity. He also thinks that the most effective action continues while the neo-Fraternity is left with only smoking diplomacy and the abandonment of its founding principles.
Here are excerpts from this conference [emphasis Non Possumus]:
He (Monsignor Viganò) takes note of what is happening in the Church, but for us it is not something new.
I do not want to be disrespectful, but for us priests of the Fraternity, it is moving and naive because we have been in this for 50 years.
So we are happy about it, of course! But it is as if the youngest of the family finally realizes that the world is wrong.
He is a very [zealous] neophyte.
They (Monsignor Schneider and Monsignor Viganò) speak loud and clear, they lament, they are sometimes tougher than us, but what do they do?
What has bothered Rome? When did Rome throw anathemas on Bishop Lefebvre? It was not when he criticized religious freedom, or during Mass in Lille. It was when he ordained priests and consecrated bishops.
Monsignor Lefebvre left something behind him. No words, no wind.
I am very happy to hear from Monsignor Schneider and Monsignor Viganò, but I say to myself: "what are they going to do?" Because one day they will die, but what will they leave behind? Words that will be carried by the wind ? Or seminaries, bishops? ...
These are voices that are welcome in the Church, but they are only the words of the marginalized.
That's fine, but I'm afraid it's sterile.

Incredible words from a seminary professor of theology! To call any condemnation of error, "sterile," is incredible.
Unfortunately, Fr. Gleize has made himself (and by extension, the SSPX) appear rather smug and petulant in these statements. He spitefully condemns Archbishop Viganò for speaking out against the errors of Vatican II and calls this alarm 'naive' because he has not yet done anything (besides vehemently speak out).
How sad that the irony is lost on Fr. Gleize that the silence of the SSPX on error, though quietly ordaining semi-modernist priests with modernist Rome's permission, paints a rather clear picture that the SSPX isn't 'fighting' against modernist Rome at all!
How can you effectively fight against the very people granting you 'favors'?!
What good is 'leaving behind seminaries' if they have all turned indult or modernist?
What exactly is the SSPX doing above and beyond what the indult Fraternity of St. Peter is doing, or the indult Institute of Christ the King doing? Are not all these groups quietly ordaining semi-modernist priests with Rome's permission? What sets the SSPX apart as being truly traditional?
Archbishop Viganò has really only been speaking out a few months. But his words have been firm and strong against error. MUCH stronger than ANYTHING the Society has spoken in years.
Let us pray that Our Lady will continue to give Archbishop Viganò (and hopefully other prelates and priests) the courage to speak out against modernist Rome and the uncrowning of Christ the King and begin, as Archbishop Lefebvre did, to found a truly traditional seminary.
