On the feast of St. Joseph the worker (May 1, 2018), Father Daniel Cooper passed away after a long illness. He was 56 years old. He died at a hospital in Houston, Texas. Father Cooper did his seminary in Ridgefield and Bishop Williamson was his spiritual director. During all his life, he remained deeply grateful to Bishop Williamson and he always considered him as a father. Here is what Fathe Cooper said about him :
" [...] I've known Bishop Williamson for twenty nine years. He gave the very first retreat at Winona. He was rector of the seminary from my second year in the seminary onwards. He was my spiritual director and I'm pretty sure I would not be a priest were not for Bishop Williamson. And I think there are many others who would say the same thing, that they would never become a priest, a seminarian were not for him. You've attend his sermons and you would there was never a better preacher. You go to his retreats, you say : 'Oh ! my goodness, he's the best retreat master !'. You go to his lectures and class and you say : 'There was never a better teacher or professor !'. So very, very fine man. And I want you to remember all the things that he's suffered during the years that he was in charge of the United States district [...] and all the things that he did for us. I want you to recall those things so you remember to pray for him and not to hold in your heart any resentment for him. [...] Remember what this man has done for us... and never forget all the sacrifices he's made. I hope that you can tell that I love him dearly. He's like a father to me. And I think to many of you as well for all the sacrifices he's made for us. [...] So, my dear friends, pray for Bishop Williamson. Remember what he's done for the Church and try your best to always support him. And especially through prayer. " (Fr Cooper on Bishop Williamson -Youtube)
When we look back to this admirable tribute to Bishop Williamson, it seems to be a serious warning to traditionalists. Let us understand the message and let us do our best to always encourage and support Bishop Williamson who is truly our father. He certainly deserve our respect and our affection for all the sacrifices he has made (and he is still making) for all us.
Let us pray for Father Cooper and for Bishop Williamson.

Albertoni, Thank you for your comments. The actual link to the video you transcribed would have been helpful. But with a little research, we were able to discover what video you were referring to, or at least a video that matched your transcription.
However, I think a little context is in order to completely understand your transcript of Fr. Cooper's remarks about Bishop Williamson. It would appear the following video is from where you have taken these remarks from Fr. Cooper:
While the excerpt of Fr. Cooper's sermon from this video was published by the Matt Cross YouTube channel in 2016, from the opening remarks of Fr. Cooper's, it was clearly a sermon given in 2009, just after the lifting of the excommunications of the four SSPX bishops by the Conciliar Church.
The words of Fr. Cooper that you chose to transcribe were indeed said in praise of Bishop Williamson. But what your transcription lacks is the context. The context was that these words of praise and support were uttered in response to the backlash the Bishop was then receiving for his comments about the Holocaust [2009].
So praise for the Bishop five or more years ago before his scandalous and erroneous remarks about the new mass [to just name one issue] is disingenuous at best. It makes it look like your are manipulating Fr. Cooper's words from nine years ago to support your points.
All that aside, it really is irrelevant who is praising Bishop Williamson now. All of the bishops he consecrated praise him. The priests of the false resistance praise him. The reasons they praise him appear self-serving but that is another issue.

Thank you Admin for the specifics, which are so helpful and important. And thanks Albertini because this 2009 sermon is another reminder of the request of all 4 bishops to Rome for the lifting of the bogus excommunications. While Bishop Williamson so often publicly spoke about the holocaust for decades, where was his Bishops voice in 2007 and 2009? Not a peep did we ever hear his position was not in agreement with the other 3 bishops. And as well where were the voices of the faithful to Bishop Williamson and the other 3 bishops? Where were the voices of the SSPX Priests?
*7. The singing of the Te Deum in SSPX chapels around the world to rejoice at the 2007 Motu Proprio which did not free the Tridentine Mass as Bp. Fellay falsely claims but merely declared that this Holy and Sacred Oblation was one and the same form of prayer as the bastard Novus Ordo Mass! And that the Mass of all time was an extraordinary form only to be used in extraordinary circumstances, when in fact it is the only form of worship to be used always and in perpetuity!
*8. The singing of the Te Deum in SSPX chapels around the world to rejoice at “the lifting of the excommunications”, when in reality this Motu Proprio reasserts the validity and justness of these excommunications!

t would appear that this video of Fr. Cooper is making the rounds on the false resistance sites. Here is the exact video on the false resistance site: Reconquista with their commentary:
We answered this exact quote from Fr. Cooper, above. We noted there that the inherent manipulation of these words of Fr. Cooper's (2009) were well before Bishop Williamson began promoting the New Mass by persistently stating that there is grace to be found in the New Mass. We know that this is a great error from the words of Pope Pius V, anathematizing anyone who changes the Mass:
How can the Bishop then tell us there may be grace there?
Interesting to note too how similar this mentality of praise for the Bishop from his supporters is to a letter written by then-Dom Tomas Aquinas - " Honor and Glory to Bishop Williamson".
Isn't this simply just the false resistance version of what Fr. Le Roux just wrote about the laity having "devotion to their priests and their parishes"?
