I have been given permission by all parties to post the following question to Fr. Cardozo and his answer via his translator.
As both the Frs are continuing to tend to the souls throughout the world, there has been much opposition to what these great, brave, and holy priests are doing. Lay people from within the neo-sspx believe that Frs Pfeiffer and Cardozo are being disobedient and disrespectful to their superiors by not following them and criticizing them. I got that opposition yesterday attending a requiem mass. Can you please comment on Fr Cardozo’s insight on the correct obedience?
the translator for Fr. Cardozo replies with this:
I talked to Father Cardozo about obedience, he even had a sermon about it a few days ago.
He says that obedience is never blind. He recalled that the fourth Commandment does not require us to obey our superiors if they tell us to sin (or, in this case, to apostatize).
Mons. Lefebvre has said several times that Rome is in apostasy and that we have nothing to deal with until it is converted.
Rome has not converted, on the contrary, it is increasingly disastrous and Neo-SSPX wants to be in full communion with apostate Rome is a betrayal of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church, as well as being a betrayal of the founder Mons. Lefebvre who was so zealous for the congregation to keep the Faith.
Father Cardozo also said: Either we (FSSPX) have always been Catholic, as Mons. Lefebvre said, and modernist Rome is apostate. Or modernist Rome was never apostate and we were not Catholics, and Mons. Lefebvre was wrong and now we need a stamp from Rome that tells us we are Catholics. Consistency must be achieved. It's crazy what's happening in neo-FSSPX.
Here in Brazil the same thing happens, I see that the problem is that people despise the first Commandment, no longer love God about everything, people love to go to Mass, receive valid sacraments, love the Congregation, love the traditional environment, love their friends, love their "favorite priests," but do not love Our Lord, they prefer to betray Our Lord in exchange for "valid sacraments." They are already lukewarm, they do not want to have to do the work of fighting for the Faith.
No matter how often they are clarified about the crisis in the SSPX, they refuse to see that the leaders are liberal, that liberal thinking is already in the SSPX and that unfortunately this ship is sinking bringing many souls into apostasy.
Currently the SSPX is where the Priests who are the true spiritual sons of Mons. Lefebvre are, there they stand firm, guarding the same Faith guarded by Mons. Lefebvre.
