On March 7, 2019, Fr. MacDonald wrote a brief summary of a recent capitulation of the Capuchins of Morgon to the Conciliar Church.
He notes how this concession has fostered a renewal of the working relationship between Morgon and the conciliar-SSPX:
The Friendship of Pilate and Herod
by Fr. Edward F. MacDonald
“And Herod and Pilate were made friends, that same day; for before they were enemies one to another.” — Luke 23,12.
Archbishop Lefebvre was told by the modernists ‘say once the New Mass and all be well’. This is not new. The old man in the bible was told just pretend to eat unclean meat and all will be well. He refused and died a holy martyr (2 Machabees 6:18-25). Many saints were martyred because they would not once burn incense to false gods.
A single evil act corrupts a man. Goodness requires integrity, that is, vigilance to never deny Our Lord. One act of denial corrupts one and makes him one of the corrupt. He becomes a friend of other evil men.
Pilate was a just man with a good wife and family. Herod was a corrupt man. But after Pilate was bullied by the Jews into condemning an innocent man, he became acceptable to Herod. They became friends. This is the friendship of the wicked. It is not true friendship.
The Franciscans of Morgon, France, recently had a hybrid wedding. A modernist priest from the Conciliar Church accepted the wedding vows of the miserable couple. Fr. Crispin, a priest from the Morgon Franciscan monastery, said the nuptial Mass. This is the method used by the new Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) for weddings. The diocesan bishop approves and regulates the marriages. They are recorded in the diocesan register. This is an about face from the system of Catholics. When the SSPX was Catholic the groom and bride signed a paper saying that they did not want to get married before a Conciliar Modernist priest where they would be in danger of getting a wrong formation, especially regarding the ends of marriage and the evils of contraception. They were validly and lawfully married before an SSPX priest. There was no danger of a modern marriage.
The Franciscans try to separate themselves from this evil wedding. They claim that Fr. Crispin, a liberal, organised this marriage without permission. However, Fr. Prior certainly could and should have stopped it and did not. He did give permission. Perhaps not explicit permission but he did not prevent it when he could have prevented it. He gave at least tacit permission. Fr. Crispin is a monk with a vow of obedience.
The Franciscans were rewarded for their treasonous act. The SSPX has forgiven all of their incidents of standing for the Truth and condemning the errors of the SSPX. The Franciscans are again permitted to have their ordinations at Econe. They are friends with the SSPX. This is the friendship of Herod and Pilate. It is not true friendship. Pilate’s life was miserable after he betrayed Our Lord and condemned an innocent man. The Franciscans will fade away and become Conciliarists. Their history and the history of the Church have now diverged. The Franciscans of Morgon will go down in infamy as traitors who joined the Conciliar Church, following Bishop Fellay and the New-SSPX.

God bless Fr. MacDonald for pointing out the corruption in these compromises by the SSPX and now the Capuchins of Morgon with the Conciliar Church of Vatican II. Fr. MacDonald is a good priest. May God give him the same courage and conviction to also reject the compromises of Bp. Williamson with respect to the new Mass, novus ordo miracles, etc.
