Priest Roman Łysko, a Ukrainian Greek Catholic, was arrested by Soviet secret police, the NKVD (People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs).

After suffering through torture, he sang loudly and beautifully Psalms, for which he was walled up, entombed alive, after which he soon perished, on October 14, 1949.
