Dear Militants of Our Lady,
Due to the rapid spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the ease with which one can unknowingly carry the infection and spread it to others before its symptoms appear, as well as the high possibility of entire flights being quarantined (even of those not infected) which would shut down all Masses for months, it appears the direction of Divine Providence and most reasonable to cancel all flights and resort to Mass circuits by car. I will still cover all missions in Canada and the USA, as long as road travel remains open. (Then, if things still worsen, it will be by horse!)
The Mass circuits will be re-worked and announced as usual (on the SSPX Marian Corps and The Catacombs websites) but expect more time intervals between Masses. However, the Ignatian Retreats this summer will not change.
Continue sanctifying the Sundays with the Missal and sermons, praying more fervently than ever, as the days seem to become more apocalyptic. Let Heaven resound with our Rosaries of pleading for God’s mercy and our own sincere change of mind and heart to conform to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus!
Notify me of any emergencies, even danger of death by the Coronavirus, I will do all I can to help with the Last Sacraments.
Let us pray for Our Lady’s intercession and Her Victory! Pray for one another as we enter into what appears to be a turbulent chapter in modern history. Nor is it frivolous to insist that we prepare good Confessions and true conversions to prepare for death. For this, we should be ready at all times, for “the day of the Lord (i.e. our own particular judgement) shall so come, as a thief in the night” (Thessalonians 5:2).
“Watch ye, … be ready, …. Blessed is that servant, whom, when the Lord shall come He shall find so doing” (St. Matthew 24:42-46)
This will be the course of travel for now, until things can resume as before.
Take courage! As the Enemy’s hour invades, so too, Our Heavenly Mother’s approaches, Who crushes the serpent’s head! O Mother of God, come quickly!
In Christ the King,
Fr. David Hewko
